I love walking into a room and seeing a vase of fresh flowers on the table. It brings a smile to my face and makes me feel warm inside. When the boys are rowdy it helps to keep me calm. I was looking for a different way to present my flowers other than using a vase and then I remembered about this cute tool box that I picked up from an antique store.
Here is what I did. It’s very simple and takes less than 5 minutes and only $13.00. Pick out your favorite flowers from a market or florist. I love shopping at The Fresh Market for my flowers. They are always fresh, beautiful and responsibly priced. The flowers that I have chosen to use today are hydrangeas.
I took three dollar store plastic cups and filled them with water and flower food.
Then I simply cut the arrangements so that they fit into the cups but under the handle. I saw something on TV years ago that mentioned if you cut fresh flowers at an angle under running water then they will last longer. It could be an old wives tale but I continue to cut my flowers this way nonetheless.
Next I placed the cups of water into the box then arranged the flowers into the cups. You don’t want to spill water into your box so it’s best if you place the cups first followed by the flowers.
That’s it. It’s a super easy way to add a little character to the home and you can put your own touch on your arrangement. What’s your favorite flower and how do you arrange them? Share with me in the comments below.
