My mom has Lupus. It is an autoimmune disease with no cure. It has drastically affected her life for years and as of late it’s gotten worse. It has killed her kidneys and she has been needing a transplant for almost a year. All summer she has been in and out of the hospital for vomiting blood, gallbladder problems, a blood infection and the latest, pancreatitis.
My sister is a match and is able to donate a kidney to my mom. They were scheduled to perform the transplant today but my mom has been in the hospital for the last 5 1/2 weeks with pancreatitis and complications from it. Over the last month she’s had fluid in her lungs, been tachycardia, had difficulty breathing and unable to keep down food. All the while, she has suffered from severe abdominal pain.
I’m am excited to say that this evening she was able to be discharged and return home. We are so thankful for all of the prayers and concerned family and friends who have taken the time to think of her, pray for her and visit her in the hospital.
