The party shenanigans in our home have been non-stop ever since we purchased the Samsung Galaxy On5 cell phone at Walmart for a Roll Back price of only $69.00 a couple of weeks ago. Maxing our tax cash on Andrew’s Birthday present to purchase the phone with the Family Mobile Plan has been an amazingly fun and memorable experience. The Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan of $49.88 not only gives us unlimited* talk, text and data (*Includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE† data then 2G); but it comes with a free VUDU movie credit every month ($7 value/line) that is about the same price as a new release rental. This allows us to spend more time together as a family. Since Family Mobile bills you later, you only have to pay $19.88 for the SIM Kit when you sign up.

We have used these mega savings from our tax cash to plan our spring break trip which starts next week but who can wait that long to get the party started? We used the extra savings from our refund to enjoy our free VUDU credit and streamed a movie via Chromecast®. We wanted to reinvest into family memories so we had a Mega Movie Popcorn Party! I wanted the evening to go very smooth and I didn’t want the boys to fight over their treats so I made them personalized snack caddies. My sister joined us for a night full of candy, popcorn, laughs and exciting movie watching.
The best part of having a movie watching party is…the FOOD! I decided to make a fun snack bar with all of our favorite movie theater favorites. Having popcorn is a must. I served them in individually packed boxes which fit perfectly into the boy’s snack caddies.
I also placed candy ropes, red candy fish, and gummy bears on the snack bar.
I decided to add little chocolate candy pieces to the bar because they are an amazing mixin for the popcorn.
I also set the mood with DIY blanket fort. I used fishing wire, hooks and Christmas lights to hold up the fort. I then draped a couple of sheets and over the wired lights and secured them behind the back of the couch.
Lining the couch with a soft blanket and adding a few throw pillows helped to created the ultimate movie watching experience. It was so cozy that I left it up for a couple of days after our party. You can guess who destroyed it…(ahem) Axel!
The caddies were a huge hit and as predicted, there wasn’t any fighting over the refreshments. Andrew loved his so much that he used his new phone to snap a picture of one and shared it with our family members. The caddies are super easy to make and will be the perfect touch to your next family movie night.
Here are the simple instructions to making your own personalized snack caddies for the kids. I know that you will love them as much as we did on your next family movie night.
Gather Your Materials:
- 1 4X6 wooden box

- Spray the box evenly and let it dry.
- One it dries, reapply the handles.

Grabbing Andrew’s phone from Walmart has been one of the best ways that we could have used our tax cash. The VUDU movie credit has allowed us to share in fun memories together and will continue to do so for a long time. How do you max your tax cash? Do you enjoy having a family movie night?
