Are you tired of digging through various sizes of silverware every time that you open your utensil drawer? Well, I was! I couldn’t find a small spoon because the pizza cutter and potato peeler where laying on top of them. So, in keeping with my organization New Year’s resolution, today I’m sharing how to make your very own custom Kitchen Drawer Utensil Organizer.
I take great pride in being a homemaker. As an Army family, we have lived in many different houses or apartments. I have learned that staying home with my children is vital to our family and it’s my job to turn every house into a home.
Being clean and organized with Mrs. Meyer’s® is a large part of my homemaking skills. Washing my dishes and cleaning the counters with these garden-inspired scents like lemon and lavender provide an aromatherapeutic experience and turn my ordinary chores into an enjoyable one.
Homemaking is such an inspirational experience for me. Thanks to Mrs. Meyer’s® Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner I am blessed to be able to chat with my boys over a warm plate of homemade cookies while sitting at a peacefully cleaned kitchen table.
I know that these little homemaking touches allows my family to know that I care for them. The vegetable protein that’s found in this all-purpose cleaner is great for removing odors from the kitchen and bathroom.
Using this organizer will help my home to run more smoothly. Homemaking isn’t really about perfection but these little touches will bring a more peaceful feeling into our home. I feel good knowing that my dishes are cleaned with essential oils and plant-derived ingredients that are made in the USA. I want the best for my family and cleanliness starts at home.
It’s nice that I can grab my cleaning products while grocery shopping. I was out at Kroger the other day, picking up lunch items for the boys when I snagged a couple of bottles of Mrs. Meyer’s®. It was super convenient because the cleaning aisle was right in front of the milk and dairy section. We buy milk a couple of times a week so I don’t have to go out of my way to grab my dish soap.
I’m thrilled to share this easy tutorial with you. Soon you can be on your way to a more organized home.
Gather your materials (Every organizer will be customized according to the size of your kitchen drawer):
- Box of small nails
- Wood Glue
- Small Saw
- Wood of your Choice (small wooden fence pieces worked well for my drawer)
- Measuring tape
Step 1: Measure your drawer and write down the dimensions of the organizer that you want to create. I made one that would hold large cooking utensils as well as flatware. Get Creative!
Step 2: Measure and make your dimensions on each piece of wood. Mark them with a pencil. Measure twice!
Step 3: Cut the wood to build the frame
Step 4: Place a little wood glue on the ends of the wood. Once it is solid, add a nail for added support. Repeat this step for every piece that you add to the organizer.
Step 5: Once the frame is built, add the inner pieces for you custom look.
Add the organizer to the drawer and style as needed. I chose to place a decorative towel in the bottom of the drawer so that I can change the look with the seasons. You can add a backing or keep the wooden look and not add anything at all.
I hope that you are able to fall in love with your organizer like I did. How do you keep your home clean? What are your homemaking tips? Be sure to grab your Mrs. Meyer’s® cleaning products from Kroger and share with us in the comment section below.
