I can’t belive that we are starting shool in just a couple of weeks! When my boys come home from school, they want to do two things, eat and play! They enjoy gabbing a cup of Horizon® yogurt to snack on but I get tired of them asking me “what can I do?” So, I’m thrilled to share with y’all my After-School Activity Jar.
Simply grabbing a glass, decorating it with the kids and filling it at random with several fun after-school activities is a fantastic family craft. They love the creamy Horizon yogurt flavors and I love the 7g of protein with live active cultures that supports their digestive system. Providing the kids with a simple after-school snack makes easing back into the shool routine a breeze.
They are always reaching for creamy Horizon yogurt as an an after-school snack and now they can enjoy it straight from the cup while grabbing an activity idea from the jar . They can also mix in nuts and berries, mmm. Once the yogurt is gone, they are already looking forward to a little bit of fun play time!
Andrew is a very independent boy who loves to be in charge, so I made sure to give him all of the creative freedom on coming up with activity ideas for the jar. He really enjoyed adding new play time experiences. He even included Axel and Gabriel on a few of his choices.
We painted a mason jar with a pale blue chalk paint. I love using chalk paint on most of my DIY projects becase I don’t have to prep the material. Andrew and Axel simply painted the jar and craft sticks. I lightly buffed the jar once the paint dried as to add a little character. I mean, I’m totally in love with the shabby chic home decor style.
I’m sure that you are interested in how to make an after-school activity jar for your family and I’m excited to share with you my tutorial.
